Time Event
7am Normal trading day starts for small cap and AIM stocks.
7am - 8am Most of the time sensitive announcements such as trading statements and company results are issued.
8am Trading for larger companies starts.
8am - 4:30pm London Stock Exchange trading day. Breaking news such as takeover updates is issued.
4:30pm Normal trading day ends.
4:30pm - 6:30pm News of share buying and selling by company directors is issued.
6:30pm London Stock Exchange closes.

January Christmas and New Year trading updates from retailers, supermarkets, pubs and leisure companies.
February Full-year results from larger companies with December 31st financial year-end, particularly banks.
March Results continue, mainly smaller companies plus retailers with January 31st year end. Trading statements from companies with March 31st year-end at end of month.
April More 1st quarter trading statements plus Easter updates from retailers.
May Results from companies with March year-end.
June More March results, first half trading updates at end of month.
July More trading updates, half year results from larger companies including banks.
August June half year results continue.
September Results from retailers, first batch of trading updates for third quarter.
October Third quarter trading updates.
November Half year results to end of September.
December Early indications of Christmas trading from retailers.
